This Privacy Policy applies to all the publicly accessible pages (and member's pages) on the APA NSW website. APA NSW does not have any responsibility for the privacy policies or practices of third party sites linked to/from the APA NSW website. Your acitivty on these sites is covered by the privacy policy of each individual site.

INFORMATION COLLECTION

Users of the APA NSW website are entitled to expect that any information collected as a result of that use will be treated within the terms of APA NSW's privacy responsibilities and obligations. APA NSW's privacy practices are regulated by the New South Wales Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.

Contact information (name, address, contact phone numbers, email address) are used to keep member's informed of relevant adoption issues and APA news and events.

Information on a member's family profile (the stage you are at in the adoption process, and names and DOB of children) are collected to ensure we are able to notify you of events and news relevant to your family. You may choose not to provide this information with full knowledge that the APA cannot be responsible if you do not receive notification of an event relevant to your family profile.

Members may elect to exchange contact details with other members within their subgroup. Information would not be exchanged without full consent.

Financial information such as bank account details are used to process transactions.

Information collected on visitors to the APA NSW website are:

    * IP (Internet Protocol) address of the machine which has accessed the site
    *  Top-level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk, etc.)
    * Server address
    * Date and time of visit
    * Web pages accessed and documents downloaded
    * The previous website visited

Information collected is stored in a membership database with the APA secretary/public officer. The database is not made available to any third party and is treated in strict confidence. APA NSW Inc will not disclose or publish information that identifies families, individuals or sub-groupings without consent or otherwise in accordance with New South Wales

Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998. APA NSW Inc doesn't sell, loan or give away any information collected. No data collected would be disclosed unless required by law.

WHAT EXCEPTIONS ARE THERE TO THIS RULE?

APA NSW Inc will collect, use and disclose more extensive information than stated above in the following circumstances:

  • Unauthorised attempts to access files which are not published APA NSW pages
  • Unauthorised tampering or interference with files published on the APA NSW website
  • Unauthorised attempts to index the contents of the APA NSW website by other

Yes. Information collected is stored in an appropriately secure format and held by APA NSW committee public officer/secretary for archival purposes. When the information is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected it is deleted.

FEEDBACK OR QUERIES ON THE PRIVACY POLICY?

Feedback facilities on the APA NSW website allow APA members to provide input into the future development of the website and to comment on the provision of services by APA NSW Inc.The provision of personal details on feedback is optional.

Users may provide personal details for the purpose of receiving a reply to their feedback. This information will only be used for the purpose for which it was provided. APA NSW will not add your email address or name to any mailing list.
