CCNSW is an organisation established in 2009 to support Family and Community Services Foster, Relative and Kinship Carers in NSW.

Some of our members have commenced their journey as Foster Parents and are now Adoptive Parents. As adoptive parents, they have continued to engage our service.

Some of the services that CCNSW provides are:

NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care

The NSW Committee on Adoption and Permanent Care provides a voice for all parties to adoption, including the practitioners involved in the field. The Committee is a non-profit organisation with membership comprising of government and non-government agencies, support groups and individuals interested in, involved in, or affected by adoption and permanent care or related aspects of Out of Home Care

Sydney Adoption Playgroup

An adoption playgroup encompassing families formed through inter-country and local adoption. Couples starting the adoption journey and established families are all welcome. Contact Leanne Hampel.

Newcastle Adoptive Families Group

Playgroups currently meet first Monday and Third Friday mornings of the month. This is subject to change depending on attendance numbers and member's available free days. Central West Adoption Support Group (CWASG)

The Central West Adoption Support Group (CWASG) meets every couple of months in various locations across the region.  The towns represented in the group include (but is not limited to Bathurst, Orange, Molong, Parkes, Forbes, Dubbo and Mudgee) and the countries represented by our members are Australia, South Korea, China, Colombia, Ethiopia, Philippines and Thailand.  We are always keen to meet with other adoptive families in the area, and to assist or support in the process any way we can.  Ours is a social group, so we usually meet over lunch on a Saturday or Sunday for a couple of hours.

There will be three meetings in 2011, the next being at Bathurst  in March.  New members (at all stages of the adoption process) are welcome.

Illawarra/Wollongong area support group

A spring picnic will be held Sunday 23 October, 2011 at Stuart Park, North Wollongong. Frequency of picnics depend on interest. Contact Lisa Wilson for details of the time and where to meet.

North West Adoption Support Group

Quarterly picnics/BBQs in Tamworth. Families currently attending all live in Tamworth with countries currently represented being Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, and NSW local program. New members at all stages of the adoption process and from all adoption programs are welcome. Families from all regional areas are also welcome.

Blue Mountains & Region Inter-country Adoption Playgroup

A friendly group of families with children adopted from all around the globe meet at various times throughout the year in the Blue Mountains region.  A chance to chat, play and exchange information. Waiting families welcome.
